Zuri Ladies' Student Suites — Ladies Hostel in Kangema

Safe, ladies-only. Study. Stay. Thrive.

Launched September 2026.

Rooms

Ensuite rooms — for one, two or four

Every room has the same design and provisions — shared rooms are simply bigger. Choose the option that fits your budget, from KSh 2,000 to KSh 4,000 per month. In shared rooms, each occupant pays and is responsible for their own rent individually.

What does “ensuite” mean? Ensuite means the bathroom and toilet are inside your room and used only by the people in that room — you never share a washroom with other rooms. Every room at Zuri is ensuite, including the shared ones.

FAQ

Common questions

Who can stay at Zuri Ladies' Student Suites?

We are a ladies-only student residence, offering a safe and supportive environment for female students in Kangema.

Does requesting a space reserve my room?

Not yet — your request is an enquiry. We'll contact you to confirm availability, arrange a viewing, and agree the next steps. No payment is taken on this website.

What room types are available?

Every room is ensuite, in three sizes: an ensuite room for one (KSh 4,000/month), a shared ensuite room for two (KSh 3,000 per person/month), and a shared ensuite room for four (KSh 2,000 per person/month). Shared rooms have the same design and provisions, just bigger, and each occupant pays their own rate. All rooms include Wi-Fi and access to a kitchenette shared among various rooms, plus the study area, lounge and indoor games.

What does "ensuite" mean?

Ensuite means the bathroom and toilet are inside your room and used only by the people in that room — you never share a washroom with other rooms. This is different from a typical "single room" in Kenya, where students share bathrooms and toilets along the corridor. Every room at Zuri is ensuite, including the shared ones.

Is the compound secure?

Yes — the compound has CCTV surveillance and a ladies-only resident community.

Do you have bedsitters?

Yes — every room is self-contained (ensuite), with its own bathroom and toilet. The kitchenette, with a free induction cooker, is shared among various rooms.

How are electricity costs catered for?

Each room has a smart meter where you can refill the tokens.

Do I have to buy a gas cooker (meko)?

No — gas cookers aren't permitted, since we use induction cookers, which are efficient in energy use and affordable. Zuri provides an induction cooker for free within a shared kitchenette; you just need to refill your electricity tokens to keep using it. You can also buy and bring your own induction cooker.

Do I have to buy sufurias and pans?

No. Induction cookers need induction-compatible sufurias with a magnetic base, and we provide them at a subsidised rate of KSh 500 per sufuria for a full semester (5 months). If you'd rather buy your own compatible sufuria, that's acceptable too.

Are mattresses and bedding provided?

Every room comes with a bed; mattresses and bedding are available at a subsidised price.

How can I book a room?

Use the "Request a space" form on this site, or message us on WhatsApp. This is an enquiry, not a payment or confirmed reservation — we'll contact you to confirm availability and arrange a viewing before anything is finalised.
